    STUCK in the 13s. I must be cursed.

    July 2008 Dragstrip Update for Irene the Dragon Wagon
    Well, I’m slightly disappointed with my drag strip results again. But the 12 is gonna come. I know it.But for now, 13 is my lucky number apparently. That 12 second pass still eludes me. Since the last time when I ran a 13.1 @ 110mph, I have changed the following.
    1. Running E85 exclusively
    2. 1000cc injectors
    3. U cams now, vs. the PZ cams before. (sadly one of the pz cams broke.) But the U cams are really good. I maybe like them better??? For various reasons.
    4. lots of boost. The injectors are at 95% duty cycle at 6500rpm and 21psi.
    5. More weight in the rear to help with traction. Spare tire jack, seats etc. 3450lbs total.
    6. New clutch, 4 paddle stage 3 SPEC. ( this one was slipping tonight too :( )
    7. And a big Bosch 049 fuel pump. The car no longer falls on its face at the big end.

    How fas is dat Vovo?

    Eye-eight youse vovophiles. Since the last trip to the dragstrip Tree weeks ago I have been very busy.

    I did some stuff here. . .

    Did some tweaking here. . .

    Whats this funny thing, looks a little out of round. . .

    Killed off and replaced one of these.

    And just now out in the garage I got the car ready for the track tomorrow by dropping 100lbs.

    I’ll be back out on the dragstrip Wednesday night if anyone wants to come BS, race, or just spectate.

    The car went 13.1@111mph last time with a slipping clutch. Will it run a 12? I hope so.
