If this car were a person, it would probably be someone like the monster here. I decided this was a good name for a car that has been modified so much that there are few original parts left on it.

staging_mustang

I bought this car with nearly 100,000 miles on it in 1997 on a student budget. The stock motor didn't last long after I had it. The crankshaft broke and took the block along with it. This meant I needed to do something about a motor for the car. It was far too nice to get rid of without a motor. This is when all the madness began. Over a couple years, I built a 6.2 liter (377ci) stroked Windsor based on a 351. It made about 325 RWHP at that point. That was just the beginning. So many combinations of parts have been tried since then it's hard to remember. Because of a tight budget, the car sat more than ran. But, it is mobile now. It is sporting a twin turbo setup that I built in my shop from scratch.

Track Results
April, 2002 The mustang made its first runs down the 1/4 mile at the 5800' alt. Bandimere Speedway. It ran great for its first day with the turbos. Click the link to see the........11.90 timeslip

August, 2002 I was able to wring a bit better ET out of the car without turning up the boost........much. A little tuning and some better driving pushed the ETs are down to the "mid" 11s Click the link to see the........11.62 timeslip

August, 2002 I raised the boost from 9psi to about 10.5 - 11psi. I think my shifting is getting better, but still not powershifting. Click the link to see the........11.45 timeslip

Magazine Coverage
My car and its engine buildup were featured in "5.0 Mustang" magazine in July and August 1999. It was a 2 part article titled "Big Power Stroker". This car is an emissions legal 351W conversion that will run 12s(sea level) on the motor. It's no lightweight racer, this air conditioned luxury coupe weighs 3300 lbs.
